Walter Gambill's Brother Dies in Abilene
R H W Gambill of Abilene and brother of W T Gambill of this city died Wednesday at Hendrick Memorial Hospital after entering the hospital the day before. Funeral arrangements were not completed. He was a broker and survived by his wife and two sons Robert and John, all of Abilene, four brothers and three sisters. The New Hope Home Demonstration Club will meet with Mrs J L Woodson on Thursday November 14.

Stamford and Stamford County Line Independent School District posted strong October tax collections. The district collected 77 percent of 105 221 on the rolls, down from prior years only slightly. Memorial poppies will be sold in downtown Stamford Saturday November 8 by the American Legion Auxiliary and helpers. The annual sale near Armistice Day aids disabled veterans in the Ten VA and three contract bed hospitals in Texas, supports welfare of children of veterans, and provides similar aid.
