Rolling Plains Cotton Growers and allied groups pledged to fight a pending U S Department of Agriculture skip row penalty aimed at retroactive yields for 1962 through 1965 plantings. RPCG leaders met in Sweetwater and Mineral Wells to oppose the ruling, arguing it would cut millions in payments and slash per acre income, with Jones County farmers losing about 19 pounds per acre and about 100 000 dollars in income plus 175 000 dollars in gains without the penalty. Stamford youths raise funds for CROP drive total
Sunday afternoon Stamford youths collected for Trick or Treat for CROP netting 250.56 from 52 workers. Proceeds go to the Christian Rural Overseas Program of Church World Service. Bid On Court House Exterior Repair
