Nine month old Sharon Marlene Pritchard of Tuxedo drowned after tipping into a five gallon water bucket on a back porch while mother worked. She died at Stamford Sanitarium at 6:30 p.m. Funeral held at Tuxedo Baptist Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Survivors include parents two sisters and three brothers. Death by gunshot ends life of Mrs. Jessie Coker Osman
Justice of the Peace J B McCarley ruled the death a self inflicted gunshot. Mrs Osman 42 died Monday at 6 15 am at the family home after a period of illness. Inquest noted she knew she was incurably ill and had arranged the act beforehand. Funeral held at Bethel church Funston with burial in Funston cemetery beside first husband S T Coker. She is survived by daughters, siblings and mothers.

The Stamford High School Senior Class held an at home social Monday night honoring parents. Moran School Building to House Scout Quarters in Moran
A plan to remodel the old Moran Street ward school into quarters for the Roe Scouts of Stamford was set in motion at a men’s banquet. A drive to raise 1000 dollars netted 875 quickly with more expected. the school board’s approval is expected if funds are completed.

A new Clover Farm store opens Friday morning on the east side of Stamford’s square. Owners are Arthur and Aubrey Adama and Roy Smith of Albany. Miss May Massey and family rushed to Houston after Mrs. J. T. Owen, sister and cafeteria manager at Alexander Hamilton High School, was struck by a car while walking home. Texas AAA administrator B N Ilolontreen said federal reps are probing violations of the 1944 cotton marketing quota. A suit was filed against a buyer who kept penalties from farmers and did not remit any to the Agriculture Secretary.
