First Wheat Deliveries Mark New Hope Area Start
A New Hope grower delivered the first 1960 wheat to Kimbell Milling Co. in Avoca produced by Carl Bearden. Mrs. Gerald Proctor bought it for $1.70 per bushel, from a 15 acre field yielding about 22 bushels per acre with test of 63. The second load came from Stamford’s Cecil Eager, selling at $1.75, with an estimated 20 bushels per acre.

Splash Day Opens Stamford Municipal Pool This Saturday
Stamford residents can swim for free Saturday as the city pool opens for the summer season. After opening day a fee will be charged. Facilities are cleaned and repainted and ready for the season. Oscar Morgan will operate the pool which opens daily at 2 p.m.
