Stamford's Artist for May Mary Newell
Mary Newell, long-time Stamford resident, was named Stamford's Artist of the Month for May after about a year of painting. Her oils landscapes have earned best of show at Haskell County Fair and a second place for a charcoal still life. She volunteers at Teakwood Manor as a medication nurse and works at a local drive-in theater, hoping to someday teach art.
