Mrs Winn Wins Free Trip To State Capitol Ball
Mrs. Lewis Winn traveled to Austin after being chosen to sell Confederate Memorial half dollars in Stamford and Jones County. She sold the largest number in the county earning a free trip to the Governor's ball in Austin. The program allocates quotas by precincts across counties nationwide, with two girls from each state to attend the Southern Colonial ball in Atlanta on another free trip.

Lueders station agent dies of heart disease
C. E. Mc Gregor, station agent at Lueders, died Wednesday morning from heart leakage after about a week of illness. He served about four years in Lueders and is survived by his wife and three daughters, Helen, Alice and Anna Lee. Burial is in Springfield, Missouri, where his family will relocate. A. F. Beatty sold his cafe to B. H. Tunnell, owner of the other cafe.

Methodists Form Wesley Brotherhood at St John’s Banquet
Twenty four men joined the Wesley Brotherhood at St. John’s Methodist church after a Friday night banquet attended by 75 to 100. Rev. R A Stewart officiated as toastmaster and others spoke on mobilizing church men and boosting Sunday School attendance to 800 by Easter.
