Final Rites Held For Death by Own Action Victim
Leon Tillman 26 native of Stamford was found dead in his car east of Tom's Ice Cream Parlor with a self-inflicted gunshot to the temple. An inquest returned a verdict of death by own action. Funeral at Swenson Avenue Baptist Church followed by burial in Highland cemetery. Survived by parents Edward and (illegible) Tillman, a brother Hubert, and three sisters. Army service in World War I noted. Brother Morris Tillman serving in Navy in San Diego.

Free Nursing Course Planned at Stamford Sanitarium
A new practical nursing course will be organized soon at Stamford Sanitarium under Miss Catherine Lavelle. No charge for the training. girls who complete it will be paid. Eligibility requires at least two years of school or equivalent and about 17 years of age. Classes meet two hours daily, likely 9 to 11 or twice weekly, with admissions via Miss Lavelle. Nurses with one year of work may qualify after hospital supervision signature. others must complete the training. The State Board plans to install courses for practical nurses and the hospital will assist applicants.
