Sheriff Gordon announces Rangers will patrol for the Reunion with Captain Locke in charge of traffic and six state guards on duty near the grounds. Chief Flournoy urges parking space preservation, using West Reynolds Street, and merchants to verify or refuse checks while residents lock cars during the event.
The Stamford Compress and Company begins improvements on its facilities to expand storage capacity. The project aims to convert ex real estate into additional compartments with a planned capacity of five thousand units.
Two cars collided near the cemetery north of town at 9 p m Tuesday. A light sedan driven by Ed Griggs overturned after being hit from the rear by Bob Posey. Griggs, his wife, two children, mother in law and two sisters in law were in the car. several relatives were thrown to the pavement. A child suffered a severe scalp laceration and a Posey passenger was cut about the face. The other occupants sustained minor injuries and everyone escaped serious harm.

R. E. McDonald will leave Stamford around July 15 to head the Amarillo division of a wholesale grocery concern. He has served Stamford as store manager since 1904 and prior to that was a clerk in Abilene for a year. McDonald is deeply involved in civic and church work and will manage seven Amarillo houses.

The Vernon D. Hart American Legion post donkey baseball team out-jacked Hamlin post to win 7 to 3 on their home field Sunday afternoon. A lively crowd watched riders navigate burros while pitchers and catchers stayed in boxes and batters rode donkeys around bases amid messy field action.
