Mrs Hall Returns Home After Long Recovery From Hip Injury
Mrs R F E Hall who spent nearly three months in Stamford Sanitarium was moved to her family home last week. A fall at home in late March caused a broken hip and the injury required extended recovery, though she has progressed satisfactorily and is able to be up again.
Liberated Prisoner Sgt Adams Visits Stamford Home
Staff Sgt David R Adams a liberated prisoner from a German camp visited his Dexter New Mexico family and Stamford relatives this week. He was shot down over France in 1944 and held at Stalag 17 B before liberation. Relatives from Fort Worth Hamlin Roby and others joined the visit.

Miles Serves on Battleship in Pacific Bombardment
Special to The American reports Jesse E. Miles of Stamford Texas serving as a column operator on a battleship that took part in the Okinawa invasion and Iwo Jima campaign. The ship's 20 mm gun crew supported air attacks while skunk boats carried high explosives. Seaman Miles, in Navy since September 1944, is the son of Mr and Mrs W E Miles of Davenport Street.
