Economic Loss From Accidents Is Staggering
Dan Nowlin of the Texas Department of Public Safety told the Rotary Club the nation loses 13.72 dollars every second to accidents. He urged three actions: leave yourself an out, drive defensively, and stay alert. He also urged refreshing traffic law knowledge noting frequent changes such as new speed limits. Traffic violations occur in 98 percent of fatal crashes, and half involve only one vehicle.
