Little League winds down in Stamford season ends

Local couples grandson earns D D S degree in San Antonio
David Scott Hickey received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He is the grandson of Stamford residents and Abilene relatives. He attended San Antonio College and Southwest Texas State University and is a member of Xi Psi Phi Fraternity. Hickey was among 126 degree candidates honored May 19 with a reception at The Lutcher Center. Principal speaker was Dr. L. M. Kennedy of Dallas. He plans to practice general dentistry in San Antonio with his father.

Busy season delays Ericksdahl picnic
Bethel Lutheran Church postponed its all day Sunday School picnic scheduled for Sunday June 17 due to the busy farming season. A new date will be announced. The church hosts Vacation Bible School this week and a Bethel Luther League social is set for Wednesday June 20 at 8 p.m. in the church basement with hosts Mr and Mrs C L Moritz and Mr and Mrs Lewis Blackstock.
