City ends bulk gas sales at airport
Stamford city council voted to discontinue bulk sales of gasoline at Arledge Field after an airport fuel allocation cut by the distributor. Airport Manager Howard Thatcher said the airport has no 100 octane fuel and limited 80 octane stock. He plans to press for 100 octane, while noting Allied Sprayers, his private firm, used about 70 percent of airport gas and asked for discount privileges.

School District Begins 1979 80 Budget Talks
Preliminary work on the 1979 80 budget is complete as the Stamford school board schedules July 31 for further review. The board also planned a school tour at the earliest feasible meeting.
