Stamford City Keeps Tax Rate at 1.35 Per 100 Valuation
City Manager urges keeping the property tax rate at 1.35 for the coming year. The council previously approved 330000 in tax bonds over four years, with good tax collections and water department profits helping cover bond payments. Since 1956 the rate has remained 1.35, despite removing parking meter revenue and bond-funded projects in city hall remodeling and street paying.
