Area raid uncovers large marijuana grow near Stamford
A Stamford area man Bryant Hansen was charged with felony possession after a July raid on his farm eight miles east-northeast of Stamford. About 460 growing marijuana plants weighing several hundred pounds and valued at 35 000 to 40 000 were found along with small amounts of packaged marijuana. The raid followed a tip and occurred while Hansen and his wife and five month old son were at home.

Stamford Pony League Sets Practice Games This Week
Stamford’s Pony League baseball team will hold two practice games this week before regional play. They host Hamlin on Thursday July 22 at 7 30 p m and Haskell on Friday at 7 30 p m. The undefeated team heads to Snyder next week for regional games Monday Tuesday and Thursday with exact Stamford game times to be announced Saturday night.

Bonds Fund Auto Mechanics Plan In Stamford
Stamford school bonds totaling 100 000 were sold to Fort Worth National Bank with a 4 32 percent rate, below the high bid of 5 5 percent. Proceeds will buy three buildings for shop storage and classrooms to serve Jones County schools with contracts for repair work to begin after August 18.

Hospital tax rate remains unchanged in Stamford district
