Five room house on West Reynolds Street owned and occupied by Chas Corley was destroyed by a blaze Wednesday around 11:30 a.m. The fire started in the roof over the kitchen and crews could not control it due to a poor water supply. Corley saved part of his household goods and the building was not insured.

Mrs Alma Vogelsang 55 died at home north of Stamford on July 6 and was buried Sunday afternoon in Highland Cemetery. She is survived by her husband Peter, two daughters Mrs Frank Kahout and Mrs H G Mueller, and a son O E Vogelsang.

The Stamford Fire Department started a recurring 4 week fire fighting and first aid instruction program modeled after Los Angeles.
