New Pastor at Christ Lutheran To Be Installed
The Reverend David E Jorgenson will be installed as pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Stamford on July 16 at 3 00 PM by Reverend Fred Scheffel of St Paul Lutheran Church Saereton Texas. He was born in March 1935 in Britton South Dakota and is a Texas Lutheran College graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in 1957 and a Bachelor of Divinity from Evangelical Lutheran Theological Seminary in Columbus Ohio in 1961. He is married to Christabel Bertelsen. they have one daughter, Kimberly Noel. He was ordained July 2 1961 by his father, Reverend Einar Jorgenson.

City Recovers After Reunion And Fire At Feed Mill
Stamford firemen quickly controlled a blaze at Eager Feed Mill on the north shed where hay and oats were stored. Damage was about 2000 dollars. 280 bales of hay and 30 sacks of oats damaged. Police officer Bascom Connally aided by spotting the fire while patrolling. The town winds down the 32nd Texas Cowboy Reunion with crowds at Lake Stamford and local businesses reopening after the event.

Old Fiddlers Please Crowd At Contest
The Texas Cowboy Reunion Association old fiddlers contest drew about 900 spectators at Round Up Hall. Contestants aged 50 plus competed in two numbers. notable winner J. F. Five Winners Receive Championship Saddles
At the Texas Cowboy Reunion more than 25 000 people attended three performances with spins of eight second rides and high scoring barrel events. Jamie Crump of Fort Worth won the sponsor saddle in 20 6 seconds while Mary Schrock of Denton was second and Brenda Foster third. Ted Cave of Roby won top bareback bronc with 374 points, Harry Boyd of Abilene was second, Bobby Wedeking third. Junior Command ridden by Buster Welch won the cutting event with 439 points, Snyder riders cutting later. Several roping and bronc events produced fast times and tight finishes, with multiple riders earning championship saddles across bareback, saddle bronc, calf roping, and bull riding.
