Robert Harris pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in Houston will headline the Double Mountain Area-Wide Evangelism Conference to be held at First Baptist Church Anson on Monday January 31 with afternoon and evening sessions. Other speakers include Bob Cameron H B Graves Jr and T O Upshaw. The Griffin Family Singers will provide music and Stamford church concerts precede the event. Public invited to attend both sessions.

At St. John's United Methodist Church seven members were elected to offices for the Stamford Ministerial Alliance. Rev. Bill Weeks was named president and Louella Ardhuerumly secretary. Retiring officers include Rev. Ross Dunn and Doug Yarborough. A monthly breakfast on the first Tuesday was planned.

With more than a month until opening, only three units remain at the Stamford Housing Development Corporation project. Senior Play Finds Gold in Paint Your Wagon at Stamford High
The Stamford High School Senior Class of 1977 stages Paint Your Wagon in the auditorium with a 1850s California musical plot. Arbor Day honors Stamford WWII war dead with elm dedication
An Arbor Day ceremony in Wendeborn Park marked the dedication of an elm as a memorial to Stamford’s World War II fallen, SSgt. L. Wendeborn. Family guests, Bulldog and Kittens team members, city officials, and community members attended the hillside ceremony with tributes, songs, and a reunion reception at the Lunns’ home.
