Union Station Remodel Underway in Wichita
Work began this week on Union Station at South Ferguson Street. The southeast dome is removed and not replaced, roofing is stripped, and the building will be refinished inside and out with a new roof. Gas heating will replace coal burners. After completion, Wichita Valley Railroad will use the building and the MK and T railroad will also resume use.

Emory Lampkin Dies Suddenly at 48
Emory Best Lampkin died of a heart attack at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday at the family home. The Stamford branch manager of Lemon Shepherd Co. Inc. in Stamford, he was born September 2, 1899 in Atlanta. He married Frances Hawksin and is survived by his wife, two sons, a granddaughter, and two brothers. Funeral plans were set for Hobart, Oklahoma, with burial in Hobart Cemetery.
