The Stamford American is now in its new home one door east of the old location. Moving began Friday morning and is nearly complete though the office remains messy. The vacated building is taken by Mrs. R. H. Dobyns' jewelry store and a nearby space will host D. Hassen's dry goods store later this month.

Attendance Grows at St John’s Methodist Church
Last Sunday at St John’s Methodist Church Sunday School attendance rose across all classes with better turnout and many members. Infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Lumpkin was buried at Highland cemetery at 4 am Thursday. Rev. Rufus Raborn conducted the service with Kinney Funeral Home in charge. The child was born and died Thursday morning. Mrs. Bertie Stroud of San Angelo visits Stamford and is remembered as Miss Bertie Mereith. Miss Dorothy Jim Duncan, student at Hardin-Simmons University, Abilene, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Duncan.

Girl births outnumber boys at Stamford Sanitarium in six weeks
Vital statistics show sixteen girls and eight boys born at Stamford Sanitarium in the past six weeks. Since the start of 1936 eight births include six girls and two boys. Arledge Ice Company leases ice properties from West Texas Utilities. Arledge, proprietor, announced the lease effective Thursday. He bought the plant six years ago and has run it successfully amid a downturn. He serves on the city council and is active in civic affairs. Sheepherder Benny Wilson Triumphs In City Auditorium Main
Benny Wilson known as the Sheepherder won the main event at the City Auditorium wrestling show by forcing double Japanese toeholds in the second and third falls. O Sullivan took the first fall in 12 minutes 45 seconds with a hammerlock. Wilson caused disturbances at ringside and even used a rope borrowed from his dog in the ring. Wilson was injured and taken to hospital after the match with 18 stitches in his leg. Danny McShain defeated Ace Abbott in the semi finals with two hammerlocks. Next Monday McShain faces newcomer Young Tarzan while Egghead Perry returns for the forty five minute semi final against Rex O Sullivan.

The Stamford National Farm Loan Association held its annual meeting in Stamford Tuesday and elected R. B. Bean Reid F. McCulloch and Lovvorn as directors for the coming year. Warren B. Tayman was re elected Secretary Treasurer for 1936. The group has aided over 375 farmers and stockmen in Jones Haskell and Shackelford counties refinancing debts, with land bank and Commissioner loans totaling 564878.25 since May 1933.

With pumping equipment to be installed, the 210 barrel well should produce, though the allowable is 50 barrels. Two Calls Answered By Fire Department
The Stamford Fire Department responded to two calls within a few days. A trash and fence fire at 719 Wells Avenue Wednesday morning was quickly extinguished. An automobile fire occurred when the emergency brake on the R. E. McNabb car was left on and caught fire as the car ran. Mrs. McNabb was driving on East Reynolds street when she noticed the blaze.
