Presbyterians Approve Plans for New Church Edifice
Central Presbyterian Church members approved tentative plans for a southeast town church. The building committee works with Abilene architects Tittle and Luther to finalize details and seek bids in spring or early summer. Estimated cost is 82600. The T shaped structure will be on Rowland Drive between Bartley and Landon, with offices, kitchen, recreation area and classrooms along the top of the T.

Animals to be sold after January 18 show in local events
Calves shown by Stamford FFA at local livestock show and Jones County event on January 18 will be sold afterward. Peak Production Reached Last Week at Plant

Year End Bank Reports Show Growing Deposits 1964
Farmers State Bank of Lueders and Stamford Federal Savings and Loan report strong growth in assets and deposits for 1963 and early 1964. Farmers State Bank assets reach 5.555 million while deposits double since ownership change in 1959. Stamford Federal shows rising savings and mortgage lending with higher deposits and new accounts. Harvey Tops Odessa Show With 840 Pound Hereford Steer
Stanley Harvey of the Jones County 4 H Club won Reserve Champion with his 840 lb Hereford steer Liano at the Send Pulls Hereford Show in Odessa on Thursday Jan 2. The prize animal was bred by Granite Hills Hereford Ranch and later sold for 1500 at Odessa sale. Harvey and family are active in 4 H, with two younger sons in feeders, and Stanley plans further appearances in Abilene Fat Stock Show and Southwestern Exposition in Fort Worth.
