Stamford County Line Independent School District will have its scholastic census taken by the Woodman Circle Drill Team starting Friday March 1. Superintendent L W Johnson urges every parent and citizen to cooperate to maximize state per pupil apportionment and ensure pupils ages 7 to 18 are counted.

Red Cross Window Draws Attention in Stamford
The Stamford Chapter of the American Red Cross voted at its regular meeting to display at least one educational window in downtown each month. The first window appeared last week at Lyles' Economy Store with a safe health display featuring “Good Health” and a model village scene. The exhibit shows a railroad theme from Bath tubville to Rail road and includes children and cattle in good health and spirits.

Rotary Club Names Bernard Bryant for District Governor
Stamford Rotary Club announced Monday that R. B. Bryant of Stamford will be a candidate for district governor of Rotary International in the 41st district. The district covers western Texas with over sixty clubs and the governor will be chosen at the Ranger conference March 21 and 22. Bryant consented after a month of effort with help from Rotarians across West Texas. John Hert Graham of Waxahachie is the only other known candidate. Stamford Rotary plans a large delegation to Ranger and many Rotarians intend to travel.

Robbery at White Kitchen Cafe. Negro Arrested
The White Kitchen Cafe was robbed of about 261 in cash and checks Tuesday night. Reuben Walker, a cafe dishwasher, was arrested by Chief G G Flournay and held in the city jail. Money found near him and in his home contradicts his denial of involvement.

The Stamford Firemen's Band and a single Legion delegation from Stamford attended the 17th District American Legion convention in Mineral Wells. Led by post commander George Connell, the Stamford group traveled far and was the first band to reach Mineral Wells.
