Rosser Lee Kinchloe 74 wagon cook for SMS ranches died at Stamford Sanitarium after two weeks illness. Funeral held Friday at 3 PM at Church of Christ with ministers Rice and Jackson officiating. Burial in Highland Cemetery. Kinchloe, born Missouri 1862, worked for Swenson ranches about 40 years and was famed among cowboys. pallbearers named Dan Ivy, Harry Lavender, Alfred Lieb, Rudolph Swenson, N. F. Berry and Brooks Glenn.

Presbyterians Open Revival Meeting March 14

Southland Paper Mills Plans 150 Ton Newsprint Capacity
The recently formed Southland Paper Mills, Inc. announces a $5,000,000 project to manufacture newsprint from East Texas pine pulp. The plant will have a capacity of 150 tons of newsprint, according to information presented to the Texas Planning Board.

Three prehistoric West Texas skeletons found near Moran and excavated by Stamford High School leaders T. R. Tinsley and J. W. Paulding are now exhibited at Stamford High School. The graves show circular rock-lined pits with flexed and varied burial positions and no accompanying beads or pottery.

David Meadow Boyd died at Stamford Sanitarium Sunday afternoon after being born premature to Rev. and Mrs M. L. Boyd of Rule. His twin Donald Marvin is reported to be improving. Funeral services were held in Cisco with Rev. E. B. Bowen presiding. Survivors include the parents the surviving twin and grandparents Mr and Mrs W. Boyd of Cisco and Rev. and Mrs C. B. Meadow of Canyon.

Miss Vernona Penman of Rochester and Bernard Buie Wells of Stamford were married in Mineral Wells on Tuesday. The couple left for a honeymoon in Mexico City and will settle in Stamford. Mrs. Buie is the daughter of A. N. Penman of Rochester. She placed second to Fay Cotton in the Frontier Centennial at Fort Worth last summer. Mr. Buie is a Stamford businessman working with his father in the Buie Implement Company.

Peckham Discovers Oil While Digging City Water Well
At the Stanford Refinery in the city center a water-well dig yielded oil. The well flowed northeast about a half barrel of crude daily and produced five to six barrels of water. Peckham plans to wait a week for further developments. The discovery came after a mud bucket ignition damaged rope.

The number of trench silos in creased in Texas from 12 in 1930 to 8000 in 1986, according to statistics compiled by the Texas Planning Board. Last year the Board estimates that there was stored underground in Texas 660,000 tons of feed worth about $3,000,000.

City Water Plant Expands to Increase Handling Capacity
Work has begun on enlarging the Stamford water treating facility at Lueder and will cost 12 849 dollars. The Austin Bridge Company won the contract last November and the project should take about 20 working days. The upgrade adds green sand filter beds and heavier pumping to assure brine supply and softening from river water during drought. Stamford residents will face hard water for about thirty days as floodwater in the reservoir is treated directly from the river. River water carries about 80 grains of hardness, but the plant can reduce it to around 30 grains. Completion of additional filter beds within thirty working days should deliver softer water.

A C Humphrey was elected president of the Exchange Club at the regular Friday noon meeting.
