Five year old Carolyn Sue Me Corkle broke her arm below the elbow after a fall from a sewing machine Saturday morning. Daughter of Mr and Mrs Johnny Me Corkle, she was treated at the Stamford Sanitarium and allowed to return home.

Footing poured this week on the new 25000 Coca Cola building at the corner of North Swenson and Bunkley Streets local manager Harmon Daffern says C S Oates and Son of Abilene are the contractors. The 50 by 155 foot structure will face 80 feet on Swenson Street and sit 70 feet back from the Bunkley corner. The old Coca Cola site on Reynolds Street is leased to Dr Pepper Bottling Company.

Jones County Livestock Show Opens Saturday at Cowboy Reunion Grounds
The Jones County Livestock Show at the Texas Cowboy Reunion Grounds will open Saturday with 250 entries and 175 boys expected. Stamford High to Receive Fifty Band Uniforms
Stamford High School will receive fifty new band uniforms along with a drum major outfit and four twirler outfits. Supt. L. W. Johnson announced the order on Thursday. Measurements were taken this week and delivery is expected by May 1. The uniforms are dark blue wool twill with white piping and trim and were described as snazzy by pupils.

Woodsons Build New Home Near New Hope
Mr and Mrs J L Woodson of New Hope are building a six room brick house with bath. The light brick dwelling will have a green asbestos roof and is two miles south of New Hope near their current residence. Lawton Bates and Paul Griggs are the builders and expect completion in about two months.
