About 707 students from 44 schools participate in Stamford High School Invitational Literary Meet this Saturday February 24 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Stamford High. Contests include debate speaking poetry interpretation prose reading spelling shorthand typing number sense science slide rule and mathematics. Andrews High and Lubbock expected to contend in key events with Permian Odessa strong in math. First to third place trophies plus team awards will be given at 2:30 PM with McMurry College judges assessing speech events.

Immunizations Given to 32 Community Kindergarten Children
Thirty two school and pre school children were inoculated Tuesday afternoon at the Community Kindergarten between five and seven. They received rubella DPT polio and measles vaccines. This was the second of three inoculations at three month intervals.
Lions honor Stamford police chief with annual tenure plaque
The Stamford Lions Club awards Br. Cooper, chief of police, a plaque at the sixth annual CN Employee Appreciation Dinner on February 20.
