Sagerton Residents Attend ACU Singing Event
Sagerton residents gathered at the home of Lena Schaake Monday night Feb 11 with Erna and Walter Schaake Emma Raphelt from Stamford and the Stegemoellers, as the community joined in an ACU singing event. Attendees included Delbert Le Fevre and his mother Alva LeFevre at the funeral of Bob Hines Thursday Feb 12. Alva LeFevre and Jessie Philly of Rule visited Dorothy Laughlin in Stamford. Lillian Nienast and Lavern Stanhope shared a doctor visit and supper. Mrs N Y Benton visited her brother Bill Marr in Haskell. Fred Schonerstedt Frieda Knipling and Mamie Lammert quilted at Olga Letz’s home. The annual Bredthauer dinner was hosted by Alfred and Mrs. Bredthauer with guests Mr. and Mrs. Walter.

Sagerton girl named CJC Wrangler Kris Kupatt named Wrangler Belle
Sagerton girl Kris Kupatt was selected as a Wrangler Belle at Cisco Junior College after Feb 3 tryouts. Twenty-six auditioned, 20 received scholarships. 44 have been accepted into Wrangl er Belles since December with 20 in high school drill teams from multiple towns. The current 31 freshmen will largely return for 1980-81, with the group touring Washington DC for the Apple Blossom Festival in April.

School Menu Week Breakfast and Lunch Highlights
The menu lists daily breakfast items from toast and bacon to cereal and pancakes with juice and milk. Lunch features chili with corn bread, hamburgers, chicken fried turkey slices, beef stew, beans, salad, rolls, and desserts, with milk offered each day.
Tech freshman Tim Gross on dean's list at Tech
Timothy Howard Gross, a freshman at Texas Tech University, is named to the fall dean's honor roll with a 3.69 GPA. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gross of Stamford. Also noted is UT Austin awarding 217 bachelor’s degrees in the College of Communication at the 1979 fall close, with Stamford resident Stuart Brent Bolding earning a BS in advertising.

Stamford teen Wade Shurley showed in the 1980 Southwestern Exposition and Fat Stock Show with Bricksdahl 4-H Club, placing fifth in junior barrows with a Duroc, first junior in spotted barrows, and third in junior spotted barrows while exhibiting the champion barrow. A second note mentions insulating a water heater with an estimated $10 cost and $2 monthly savings, recouping in about five months per Bonnie Piernot.
