Great Array of Animals Entered In Hamlin Show
The Jones County 4 H and FFA show at Hamlin drew a large crowd with about 200 animals. Judges E R Eudaly and J M Bird evaluated cattle, hogs, sheep, and poultry while 21 clubs and the Hamlin FFA marched in the parade. Prizes totaled $300 from local chambers of commerce and a chuck wagon meal celebrated the event.

Fort Worth: Eilah Elliott to Spend 10 Days at Fat Stock Show
Eilah Blan Elliott, 17, a pre medical student at Texas State College for Women, will pause her studies for 10 days starting March 7 to participate as a ranch girl at the Fat Stock Show aboard her horse Dany. Daughter of Mr and Mrs Tom J Elliott of Stamford, Elliott has ridden at rodeos in Spur Seymour Big Spring Colorado City Midland and Stamford and hails from the S M S Flat Top ranch near Stamford. Her early branding tour was led by ranch foreman John Selmon, and she has worked as a cowhand. Her hobbies include riding shooting rifles and medicine.

U S Training of Pilots Plan Outlined at Exchange Club
Captain Bob Arnold outlined the U S program for training pilots at Stamford near the Exchange Club meeting. He described expanding from Randolph and Kelly fields to about thirty civil primary training schools and a goal of 12 000 pilots annually. The Stamford school will start with sixty students, rising to 120 or 150, with instructors trained to Army standards and a four to five student ratio.

Heart Attack Fatal To Bob Willingham
Mr and Mrs J D Curd traveled to Abilene for the funeral of their son in law Bob Willingham who was found dead after a heart attack Thursday morning last week. Funeral services were held in Abilene and burial took place in Hamlin. Willingham and family formerly lived in Stamford for years. two daughters Shari Ann nine and Bobbette eight were born there. Martha 14 months old. Mrs Willingham was Fay Curd. The family had lived in Abilene for years, moving from Hamlin.

Mrs Lloyd Browne won the round robin golf tournament completed at Stamford Country Club on February 14 and received a bathsome trophy. Sixteen women competed in the events as the most ambitious Stamford women golfers’ tournament of the year. The trophy is a gold figure of a woman playing golf mounted on an ebony base.
