L F Perry and his brother Charles developed the Tilt N Batch portable concrete plant in 1966. The unit fits legal road dimensions, rolls on a semi trailer, sets up and powers itself, and batches seven cubic yards per use. They built two units at their Anson highway site and pursued a patent, with U S Patent Office approval in January 1969.

Mrs Willie Ora Pitts, 69, died Monday at Stamford Memorial Hospital after a one day illness. She suffered a stroke Sunday and was taken to hospital by ambulance. Stamford High hosted an invited science and mathematics meet with six area schools competing. Stamford claimed the top three slide rule scores led by Bruce Wilson 217 Curtis Harvey 207 and Ray Rinn 146. In number sense Rotan’s Roger Graham posted a perfect 100 while Stamford’s David White was second with 50 and Charles Narol of Throckmorton had 30.
