Feldt Company will start training 150 women Monday to operate lower sewing machines for shirts at the Stamford plant. Training in stages begins with no needle work, then sewing paper and scraps. After training, operators will be hired. production shifts from Temple to Stamford.

Billy Dodd is named fund campaign chairman in Stamford for the Red Cross drive opening soon. Stamford’s quota is 1900, reduced from last year. Jones County’s quota stands at 5910.

Ted Myers Elected Rotary President For Coming Year

Ted Myers was elected president of the Stamford Rotary Club to take office July 1 succeeding R. E. Hell. Edgar Ellis was elected vice president and Jim McCulloch re elected secretary treasurer with Hall, Tom Adams and Brooke Early named directors. Elmer Payne invited members to a Golden Anniversary in Sweetwater on Feb 25 and Maurice Crawford issued an invitation to Wichita Falls celebration on Feb 24. Dr. Harry Lee Haynes spoke on club service stressing member responsibility to every committee.

Cobb Named Assistant Secretary Treasurer at Stamford Credit

R C Cobb of Haskell was named assistant secretary treasurer of the Stamford Production Credit Association at a Feb 11 board meeting in Stamford. He joined the association in 1929 and after service in Europe returned to work in the Haskell office before moving to Stamford with his family after the school term.

Irene Stewart Wins First in Eyes to the Future Contest

City-Wide Religious Survey Planned

Rural Letter Carriers To Meet In Stamford Next Tuesday

More than 29 merchants met with City Manager Harry Steen to urge council action on added parking on the Square. The State Highway Department proposed reducing park space for a large angle lot. initial city cost was about 15 000 dollars, but recent estimates suggest a lower figure. Scout Banquet Reviews Stamford Boy Scout Activities

A Thursday night banquet at the Stamford Country Club honored 140 attendees including cubs scouts explorers leaders and families.
