Dr Hiram J Mitchell aged 91 died at his home Monday afternoon after years of ill health He retired from practice a few years ago Funeral services were held at Kinney Funeral Chapel with Rev H S Hinson and Rev Dick OBrien In Stamford he was born October 1 1847 in Alabama He served in the Civil War before moving to Stamford Survivors include two sons W M Mitchell and Frank Mitchell 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren Burial was in a local cemetery

Harold Swift of Stamford aged 24 died Wednesday at 7 45 am at All Saints Hospital Fort Worth from a brain abscess. He fell ill two weeks earlier and was transported by Kinney ambulance to Fort Worth. Funeral services were held at St John’s Methodist Church and burial at Highland Cemetery. Survivors include his parents three brothers and a sister. Pallbearers named.

Ed Grays Sell Home and Build New House at Sagerton
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gray sold their North Swenson Avenue home to Dr. and Mrs. J. E. Wood and will build a white stucco home at Sagerton. They aim to complete it and turn the Stamford residence over to the Woods within two months. The Gray residence became available last Saturday. The Woods plan slight remodeling of the Gray house and will use it for Dr. Wood’s offices. The sold house is a seven room red brick structure built about two years ago.
