Jimmy Green 18 son of Mr and Mrs W C Green Sr of Stamford was reported in good condition at Stamford Sanitarium after electrical burns from touching a live wire while working on a project near Coleman last Friday. He was transferred to Stamford hospital Tuesday with severe burns on his left foot and right hand.

Wichita Falls Man Jailed For Hit and Run
A Wichita Falls man was held in Stamford jail on $750 bond charged with hit and run and driving while intoxicated. Driving an oilfield truck loaded with pipe, he allegedly struck Paul Burk’s parked car on North Swenson. Police detained him eight miles north of town. Justice of the Peace Roscoe Hood set bond. Trial scheduled in district court. Damages estimated at $400.

Lions Gift New Flag to Stam ford Armory
The Lions Club donated a 50 star flag flying over the Stamford National Guard Armory. A 39 foot flagpole was donated by several individuals and firms. Drill stem from Flecher Oil and Gas Co. welding by General Welding Works. Pole hole drilled by Doe Lindsey of L and F Construction Co. L. G Moore presented the flag. Other Lions included Aubrey Smith W. B. Trice and D. T. Rorie. Pecan trees and shrubs to be planted when weather allows.

Two Latinos Get Four-Year Probated Sentences in Stabbing Case
Two Latin Americans received four year probation in Haskell County District Court after pleading guilty to murder related charges. Each was ordered to pay $200 toward hospital costs for Manuel De La Cruz, a Stamford musician allegedly stabbed at a dance on December 3.

City Bond Election Likely on April 4
Stamford residents may vote April 4 on a $271000 city improvement package as the council weighs whether to call the election and whether to group the measures. Mayor W B Harrison indicated the date at Friday’s meeting. Proposals include $100000 for the auditorium, $117000 for city hall remodeling, and $54000 for Carnegie library work. A joint council chamber of commerce committee has proposed cuts to bring the auditorium cost under $100000.

F B Harkins has purchased Huston Furniture and took over its operation this week. The store will be known as Harkins Furniture at the northeast corner of the square in the Swenson building. Mack Huston, former owner, started the store five years ago and moved it to this location three years back. Boy Charged With Stealing Money at Gym
Stamford police arrest a 15 year old student charged with taking money from locker areas in the school gym dressing room. Police say previous incidents of missing money were reported. Eight Latin American boys, six juveniles, are charged with destruction of property for allegedly damaging a southwest town residence building. Two will appear before City Judge Dick Rowland and the others before County Judge Andrews.

Mother of Local Women Buried At George West
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in George West for Mrs. G. W. Terry who died at 92. A Hale County Alabama native, she moved to West Texas in 1904 then Beeville in 1924 before living with a daughter in George West. She is survived by five daughters and five sons, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Burial followed at George West Cemetery under Price Funeral Home Three Rivers.
