496 Pints of Blood for Korea Drive Won in Three Towns
A total of 496 pints of blood for the Korea relief effort were collected in Jones county towns last week. Stamford contributed 211 pints, Hamlin 150 pints, and Anson 135 pints. District 20B hosts a weekend playoff at Stamford gymnasium with Avoca and Aspermont in the north half and Hawley with Noble or South Taylor in the south half. Nauert Death Ruled Accidental Shooting Inquest
Richard Nauert aged 36 was found beside his car in the Fricksdahl area after a hunting rabbit trip. Anson justice of the peace and Sheriff Dunwody ruled the shooting accidental. He left a note of planned fishing and left behind wife Emma Pearson, daughter Margaret Ann, and son Dwain with several siblings. Burial followed at Bethel Lutheran Cemetery.

Anglin Dies at 81 After Stroke in Stamford
George W. Anglin 81, longtime Stamford resident since 1927, died Saturday morning at the Stamford Sanitarium after a stroke Thursday. He married Rosella Mooney on January 15 marking their 63rd anniversary. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church with burial at Highland cemetery. Surviving are his wife, seven daughters, one son, 15 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters.
