Five Stamford men were named to the Stamford Housing Board by Mayor W B Harrison and approved by the City Council Friday. One year terms go to R D Coston and Norris Russell. two year terms to J L Hill Grady Bowdry and H D Price. The board will study low cost public housing and possible Urban Renewal program administration. Fort Worth architect Hubert Hammond Crane urged council to learn details firsthand.

Capt. E. J. Neely brother in law of Wendell Putman and Mrs N J Goodman of Stamford killed in a plane crash Sunday at 3 30 p m. A major from Big Spring also died. They were en route to their Chanute Field base. His wife, the former Margaret Putman of Corsicana, survives with a son Nuane.

Stamford recorded its seventh snow of the season on Tuesday night totaling two inches with 19 inches of moisture. Snow began after 9 p.m. and fell intermittently until 7 a.m. with periods of visibility impacted by the light accumulation. Temperatures stayed freezing or below, and ground soaked from prior drizzle as farmers noted effects of earlier moisture. The season also saw snows on November 22, January 5, January 20, February 7, and February 11.
