February 15 Deadline for Farmers Tax Filing
Abilene IRS official Arthurk. Fogle Jr said farmers who earned at least two thirds of their 1964 gross income from farming must file their final Federal income tax return and pay any tax due by Monday February 15 if they did not file an estimated tax by January 15.

Two Civil Cases Disposed in 104th District Court
In a Monday session two civil cases were settled by agreement. One suit by Dan H. Pope against Winns Store Inc. claims Mrs Carlee Pope fell and was injured at the Hamlin shop on Sept 23 1963. The other case by Mrs Wren Lou Busby of Ansen against American Bankers Insurance Co. sought payment of an insurance claim after she broke her hip Aug 14 1964 and was hospitalized, with dismissal filed Monday morning.

30 Defendants To Be Called In County Court
Judge Leon Thurman summons about 30 persons to appear in county court Monday at 10 o clock. Guilty pleas will be heard and other cases set for trial. Stamford Businessman Killed in Head-On Collision
George Jeter of Stamford died last Thursday night when his southbound car crashed head on with an Allied Van Lines truck about 50 miles north of Stamford on U S 277. The wreck blocked the highway over two hours. funeral services were held in Haskell with burial in Willow Cemetery. Survivors include his wife Fern, an adopted son Paul Spaulding, a brother Cal Jeter, and his mother Mrs J F Jeter of Rule.

Lindsey Funeral Held at Avoca Church
Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Lindsey 79 of Avoca were held Tuesday at 3:00 p m in the Avoca Methodist Church with Rev Johnny Weldon officiating. Burial followed in Spring Creek Cemetery Avoca under Kinney Funeral Home direction. She died February 7 after nine months illness. Stamford to consider animal control ordinance at council
The Stamford Community Health and Safety Committee will present a drafted animal and fowls control ordinance to the city council at its next meeting, Friday Feb 19. The plan includes vaccination and licensing for dogs and cats, penalties for unvaccinated or unlicensed pets, and provisions for impounding and sale of animals running at large.
