The Westerners Square Dance Association will hold its monthly round-up in Stamford with a tentative date of March 4. About 400 to 500 couples of square dance enthusiasts are expected at the Round-Up building on the Texas Cowboy Reunion ground. City Survey Finds Over One Quarter Use Outdoor Toilets
Stamford officials released a survey by City Manager Grady Bowdry showing 1605 dwellings or businesses studied. Of these 1192 have sewer access, 1054 connected, 188 not connected including 82 with outdoor toilets and 8 with no facilities. Where mains absent, 99 septic tanks and 314 outdoor toilets were found.

Funeral Rites for Marine Patch Herrick Held in Lueders
Military rites were held Sunday at Luchers Methodist Church for Pvt. Patch Stanley Herrick born 1926 in Tueders who died in the Okinawa campaign. He is survived by his parents Ralph and Mrs. Herrick of Lueders and was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and other decorations.

Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Hoote sold the Hoote Grocery in Tuxedo after eight years of operation. The Hootes and their daughters Marjorie Lee and Ruby Ann will move to Stamford for a time. Howard Owen and his wife, formerly of Paducah, purchased the store and began operation the previous Saturday. They had previously lived in Stamford, leaving in 1935.
