Dr. R T Bynum of McMurry College spoke at the Stamford High School Band Boosters banquet held Thursday night in the school cafeteria. The event featured performances by McMurry guests Dorothy King, Tommy Fry, Bill Fireash, Rob Newman, and Margaret Urissom with Miss Urissom on piano. Brooke Early presided as toastmaster as the boosters served a Valentine themed party with heart place cards and red gladioli centerpieces.

A heavy rain with electrical disturbance fell here Thursday night totaling seven inches. Farmers welcomed the moisture, saying they have not been completely dry since the late December snow, while a Sunday mist offered a glimmer of further moisture that did not materialize.
