A. D. Williams of Stamford is named chief deputy sheriff succeeding Ray mond Spraberry who resigned this month. Williams, born in Jones county, has lived in Stamford all his life and served over three years in the service with campaigns in Europe and the Pacific. Sheriff Bill Dunnody praised his friend ship and cooperation.
