Blood Drive Sends 214 Pints to Korea From Stamford
Stamford volunteers collected 214 pints of blood for the Korean front. The bloodmobile visited Stamford Monday and Tuesday with 131 pints taken on opening day. Donors aged 18 to 59 included Latins and colored people. The blood is refrigerated, shipped daily to Fort Worth, processed into plasma, and flown to Korea within nine days. Local churches clubs and the Chamber of Commerce aided, with about 100 volunteers and hospital staff supporting the drive.

George Oats Home Damaged by Fire Saturday
Fire struck the home of Mr and Mrs George Oats at 710 East McHarg Avenue about 8 15 p m Saturday. Mrs Oats and children returned to find the back of the house ablaze after delivering a woman home.
