Past work as cowboy and drag line operator. married 1891 in Aspermont. Funeral directed by Barrow Funeral Home.

Stamford Young Man Missing After Car Wreck
Ralph Anderson a 21 year old lighting salesman for West Texas Utilities disappeared after his Plymouth coupe wrecked between Stamford and Hamlin. A 6:30 a m ambulance found only the car and searches of pasture and nearby hospitals failed to locate him. He was later found at his Abilene home with severe bruises and lacerations but was reported in favorable condition on Thursday.

In Anson district court this week G C Clark of Hamlin faced a conspiracy to commit a felony charge. His defense presented a copy of The American dated January 18 1935 as Exhibit A alleging it proves he was at the Kee Theater Stamford watch a pictured show at the time of the alleged conspiracy. The paper's publisher testified to verifying the copied issue.

Twenty Prisoners Bound for Huntsville Penitentiary
Twenty men from Jones county were held in Anson awaiting transport to the State Prison at Huntsville for crimes including burglary cattle theft and hijacking. The 20 prisoners are two more than the usual load for Un cle Bud Russell's bus with terms from two to 25 years and the jail total reached 31 occupants.

Poll Taxes in Jones County Fall Short of 1934
Tax collectors in Anson report lower poll tax receipts this year than in 1934 with early mail remittances and anticipated total around 4650 compared to 4900 two years ago. Exemption certificates issued for new voters who reach 21 since January 1 1935 total 245. Some voters over 60 may vote without poll tax.

Students in the high school may choose new subjects for the second semester. About thirty juniors and seniors take a half credit in Home Economics with Miss Rowell. Man Hurt Jumping Into Snow Pile From Shop Roof
Jack Cook suffered a broken vertebrae in the neck after leaping from the Stamford Parts and Machine Shop building into a snow pile during cleanup. He learned of the injury the next day and was hospitalized, remaining in bed for months and away from work about four months. He and his wife and baby moved to the Henry Cook home.
