Stamford city council approved Paine- Webber-Jackson-Curtis Inc bid to sell $250 000 in bonds for city projects at 6.1810 percent interest with a net cost of $200 884 over 20 years. Other bids ranged from 6.27169 to 6.5774 percent with costs from $203 830 to $213 766.50.

Stamford's Bicentennial Committee learned Wednesday morning that a request for 2300 dollars from the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission of Texas was approved in full for the Cowboy Country Museum. Cold rains push Stamford year total to 1.06 inches with a week of off and on showers. January rainfall reached .23 inches while February has .83 since Feb 1, keeping the year near normal at 1.06 through Feb 6. Open house marks Mrs. Clara Moritz 100th birthday celebration
Nearly 112 friends and relatives gathered Saturday at the home of Leona Smith to honor Mrs. Clara Hulda Moritz on her 100th birthday. Born Clara Becker in 1875 near Giddings Texas she lived in multiple communities before settling around Stamford. Her family includes children C L Roy and Leona Smith with Carney deceased in 1959. Grandchildren number eight and great grandchildren eight. Mrs Moritz attended Christ Lutheran Church and baked bread into her late 90s while living in Stamford and Teakwood Manor. The guests traveled from Sealy Brookshire Fort Worth Houston Anson Bryan Lubbock and other towns.
