Harmon park committee revived the Harmon park improvement question in a Chamber of Commerce office meeting. A committee was appointed to meet with the City Dads for cooperation. $826.60 is on hand to apply to the project and plans include leveling lighting and beautifying the park. The Music club was invited to appoint two members to the board.

James Waggoner is home with his discharge after 42 years in the Air Forces with 244 years overseas. Retired Farmer Dies at 71 in Stamford
Andrew Jackson Lee aged 71 died at Stamford sanitarium at midnight Tuesday after years of poor health. Funeral was Thursday at First Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Miles B. Hays. Burial in Highland Cemetery with Kinney Funeral Home in charge. Lee born January 17, 1875 in Panola County and lived in Haskell and Jones counties before moving to Stamford in 1922. He married Kate Grant at Stamford on July 2, 1822. Survivors include his wife, sister Mrs. John Halliburton of Rochester, and brothers Jim and Henry Lee of Oklahoma.

Men Seek Housing in Stamford for 17 Families
Two representatives of the Seeisomograph Service Corp of Tulsa Oklahoma, Dan Roberts and R S Philippi, sought housing in Stamford this week for 17 families to support oil explorations. The families would stay about three or four months, but Chamber of Commerce manager A C Bishop noted a severe local housing shortage and suggested sending only single men or men without families if possible.

Major remodeling plans loom for Cobb’s stores and others
Several large construction and remodeling projects are in the works. Cobb's Department Store has bought four business locations on the West side of the square, triggering changes still in planning. No remodeling details for Cobb's new store are set, per LL Webb. Work continues meanwhile on Kirk's Dairy plant, the Four Square Gospel church, Dr Seth Com’s building, and Lawdon Chevrolet Co showroom on North Swenson as materials await arrival.
