Bulldogs To Play Churches For Christmas Help In Stamford

The Ministerial Alliance and Stamford churches coordinate Christmas aid for needy families. St Johns Methodist serves as a clearing house. calls to 591 connect with those to be helped. All churches plan to care for own members and nonchurch families, with provisions for shutins and lonely individuals during the holidays.

Judging Date Set Friday for Stamford Christmas Decorations

The Stamford Christmas lighting contest judging will occur Friday evening December 19 between 6 and 7 o'clock. Sponsored by the Stamford Garden Club and Stamford Chamber of Commerce, decorations must be listed with the chamber. Call 44 to add entries. J F Walker became ill Thursday and was taken to the Stamford Sanitarium by ambulance from Kinney Funeral Home. He is responding favorably to treatment and is expected to be released in a few days.

Church of Christ to Remember Old Folks With Gifts

The Church of Christ plans a Christmas delivery to Gunter Home for the Aged. Lynn Carlton and James Sheppard will depart Stamford Monday morning December 22 with a truck of items including sheets pillow cases cookies soap and soap powder. The church also will distribute 12 to 15 baskets to needy families on Christmas Eve.

Winners Named in Scotch Foursome at Stamford Country Club

A scotch foursome hosted at Stamford Country Club on Sunday December 14 lists winners including Pet Calhoun Mrs Gene Knate Mrs Carl Swenson and Homme Calhoun Mrs W 2%. Vaden and J B Tabor. Committee met Tuesday morning to allocate local charity funds totaling 3500 to Youth Center 1000 and Susret Youth program 700. Boy Scouts received 29 dollars. Camp Fire 56 dollars, 571.44 short of its request. Mr West praised dove drive workers and urged continued community effort.
