Stamford to Raise Gas Rates 19.8 Cents per Thousand Feet

The Railroad Commission set the city gate rate at 1.0399, replacing a 94.19 cent emergency rate. Bellamy says the increase will lift average monthly bills by about 1.43 dollars and notes the city council already advanced the first reading. The plan includes higher pass through of costs and targets an 8 percent return, with other utility costs rising since 1970. In other items, the council discussed the Cowboy Country Museum remodeling and appointed seven zoning board members, plus named James Rodgers as city budget auditor for 1974-75.
