Stamford’s Kenneth Lowe and Charley Davis, both all state football precats, made creditable showings in the Greenbelt game at Chil dress last Friday. Lowe, a triple threat back, carried twice for 14 yards while Davis powered the line. The local fans praised the style of play despite Lowe not showing to his best advantage. Park Board Seeks Fulltime Maintainer For Stamford Parks
The Stamford park board voted to ask the City Council to hire a fulltime park maintenance man for the next fiscal year. They also urged city water for all parks, discussed replanting the lawn around the post office, and designated the project as number one in the improvement program. Rites Set Here Thursday for Mother of Mrs Rheton of Reton
Funeral services for Mrs. Martha White of Stamford will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Kinney and Son Funeral Home. She died Tuesday at 2 a.m. in Picher Oklahoma where she had lived with a son for three months. The body will be buried in New Hope Cemetery. Mrs. White, 71, is survived by two daughters, two sons, 29 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, along with three sisters and several others.
