War Department informs Mr. and Mrs. August Stremmel of Lagerton that their son Staff Sergeant Willie E. Stremmel, 27, died from wounds received in France on July 14. He served overseas since November 1942, fought in Sicily and Tunisia campaigns, trained at Camp Wolters and Fort Benning, and belonged to the 9th Division. He was born June 21, 1918, and left a farming background with a large Sagerton family and fiancée Joe Frances Heathington of Gorman.
