National Guard Leaves Friday For Camp Hulen
The Stamford unit of the Texas National Guard Company K 142 Infantry will entrain Friday for Camp Hulen for annual training. About 600 enlisted men plus officers Dudley D. Fire in the Snow White Creameries roof area was quickly controlled with minor smoke and wiring damage. A.A. McAndrews and a worker at the scene helped spot the blaze before it spread. Other fires included a Blackie Morrie home roof burn on West Moran Street and two minor fires near East Handian Street and Elle Avenue.

Minister Who Held Meeting Here Dies
Dr RL Jeving superintendent of the Bloya Camp Meeting Association near Fort Davis died suddenly last Thursday. He conducted four revival meetings at Central Presbyterian Church about six years ago under Pastor Rev Fred Rogers. Rev Mr Irving was found dead near the Bloya Camp grounds beside his automobile after a flat tire. He came to the Fort Davis area from eastern pastorates for his wife’s health. His wife and two sons survive.

Sam Damaron, 37, died from gunshot wounds at Leonard at 1 a.m. August 1 and was taken to Stamford for burial. Funeral held Monday at Nazarene Church at 4:49 p.m. Burial in Highland Cemetery. Bob Martin, a night watchman, fired the shot. Damaron may have been deaf. Damaron’s fingerprints were taken for further record by J. L. Johnson of Stamford police after the body arrived.
