St Pauls Lutheran Church of Sagerton marked its thirty fifth anniversary with a Thursday night program. Rev A H Muclbrad wrote dialogs recounting the churchs 1905 organization origins near Lagerton and the move to the current site in 1916. Members of the Sunday School and Ladies Aid staged histories and songs. a rally for a new church edifice followed with contests, fellowship and refreshments.

New Theater Opening at Stamford State to Debut Saturday
Stamford's new theatre the State will open Saturday at 8 p m with Mutiny in the Big House, manager M A Payne announced. Opening prices are 10 and 20 cents and four programs will be shown each week. Late RCA equipment and a large cooling system equip the fully furnished venue.

Koenning Dies At 82 At Avoca Home Of Daughter
F H Koenning aged 82 died last Friday afternoon at the Avoca home of his daughter Mrs Otto Hinze Sr. Funeral held Saturday at 4 pm at Dennis Barrow chapel with Rev A H Muehlbrad of St Pauls Lutheran Lagerton officiating. Burial in Highland cemetery. Born Germany October 16 1867 he came to America as a youth and was a ginner in his prime. He had lived in Taylor before moving to Avoca. Survived by daughter Mrs Rickey Boaz of Taylor, six grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters.

J C Kyle of Fort Worth died of peritonitis Wednesday morning in a Fort Worth hospital. His funeral is set for 5:30 PM Thursday at the First Christian Church. Kyle, longtime Railway Express employee, had 40 to 45 years of service. He and Mrs Kyle recently passed through Stamford en route home from Shamrock after visiting Stamford friends. He is survived by his wife and a daughter.

12 year old Monte Knutson son of Mr and Mrs B F Knutson has appeared four times on KRBC Abilene total appearances include a birthday club hour and Tenderfoot segment. He will sing again Sunday 7 to 7 30 pm over KRBC and recorded voice sent to major networks. He sang for Lions Club in Anson and is invited to a Will Bowers Memorial banquet August 15 broadcast on the Texas State Network. His marionette show features fully developed puppets and he has a stage and dressing.

Mrs. Joe Rhodes Dies in Ranger and Funeral at Tuxedo
Mrs. Joe Rhodes of Fluvana and former Miss Margaret Appling died of peritonitis at a Ranger hospital after illness while visiting her father W. D. Appling.
