Open house marked the 80th birthday for Mrs. W. T. McCulloch of Stamford. Attendees included daughter Mrs. George Smith and daughter in law Mrs. J F McCulloch, with neighbors and friends visiting at her home. Born April 4 1868 in Murray County Georgia she moved to Jones County in 1885 with her parents the Johnsons. She married J Mcculloch in 1891 and lived on a Sunnyside farm before moving to Stamford in 1923. The couple had four children and several grandchildren with one great grandchild.

May Fete Planned By Reynolds Street School Students
The Reynolds Street School will stage its third annual May Festival on April 30 at 7 p.m. at the high school stadium under the Reynolds Street Parent-Teachers Association. Students will perform folk games representing year holidays in costumes, before a royal court with a king and queen and court from Oliver Street and Reynolds Street. Mrs. Sam Baize chairs the event with committees led by Mrs. Curtis Terry and Mrs. Clyde Westfall. other leaders include Mrs. Mood in charge of properties, Mr. Ratliff for arrangements, Mrs. Jack Mills for publicity, Mrs. Upshaw for the court, Mrs. Archie Pardue for costumes, and many mothers assisting. Mrs. Joe Dick Giddens, PTA president, is limited to advisory duties due to her children's illness.

Stamford Team Opens Season At Crane In Saturday Doubleheader
Stamford prepares for its first league game at Crane Saturday night in a doubleheader. A chartered bus will carry fans, with tickets still available through E R Tankersley and Sam Baize. The team leaves at 12 30 p m and returns after the game, while the first home game is set for May 1 against Lubbock. The steel grandstand is under construction and due by April 20, with the ticket office to be completed this week.
