Forty two Stamford girls and two sponsors attended a district Future Homemakers of Texas meeting in Anson with clubs from Jones Kell Knox Taylor and Stone counties. The morning featured a high school band welcome group singing and reports. Afternoon programs included etiquette musical numbers cooking tips and a tap dance. Campaign Push for Cotton Bagging in Jones County
Anson Chamber of Commerce directors voted to sponsor a county campaign in Jones County to replace jute bagging with cotton bagging for cotton bales. Abilene Man Injured In Icy Pavement Fall
Bob Willingham of Abilene, formerly of this city, fractured his left knee after slipping on an icy curb near a Pecos service station. He was brought to Stamford Sanitarium by ambulance, had knee surgery, and a cast applied. his condition is reported as fine. His wife Fay Curd accompanies him.

Jones County 4-H boys sold 16 calves at Stamford Livestock Exchange for 1816 dollars, averaging 12.65 per 100 pounds. Calves gained 2.5 pounds daily over 330 days, with show placements at Jones County Livestock Show and Southwestern Exposition Fort Worth. Prize money totaled 104 dollars.

Exchange Club Hosts Easter Egg Hunt for 300 Guests
The Exchange Club held an Easter egg hunt at Harmon Park last Friday afternoon with about 200 children divided into five groups by age and grade. Prize eggs, each bearing the club emblem and a $1 award, went to top finishers: Bobby Joyce Brown pre school, Cloyd Rappe first grade, Aileen McNabb second grade, Betty Jo Graham third grade, and Louise Clark fourth grade. Seven Boy Scout Troop No. 41 members assisted.
