Sutherland Shire Council aims to acquire 54 acres at Cronulla via the Government for a public park. A deputation met the Lands Minister and persuaded him with local support. Dr McAlister offered £25 a year while alive, seen as a generous gesture. The council plans to explore financing methods at the next meeting.
The United Sunday Schools of Miranda district held a fundraising gathering at Miranda School of Arts to support Alexandra Hospital for Children. The event, led by Rev. I. D. Armitage with Rev. S. C. Roberts and Watts, raised £9 from 12 children, enough to fund six months with government subsidy. Flowers and eggs were given for delivery to young patients.
