Tragedy in Harrodsburg as husband kills wife
A jealous quarrel ended in Harrodsburg Kentucky with Phil Phillips fatally shooting his wife aged seventeen and wounding her sister Mrs Kyle Watkins and severely wounding Thomas Sallee. Phillips then shot Sallee as he tried to leave and wounded Mrs Watkins before surrendering to officers. The coroner will hold an inquest.

The Record of Lagos reports the death of Rev. Strother M. Cook who preached to natives while traveling on foot in the low country under harsh sun and rain. He fell ill with fever and died in Lagos on June 1 after being moved there on May 31. His last sermon urged that Christ shall magnify the body in life or death. He was buried in Africa after decades of missionary work.
